Dear Farnsworth Parents/Guardians,
My name is Ms. Martinez, and I am very excited and motivated to be your child's new Spanish teacher! I am working collaboratively on a science based challenging and fun curriculum through songs, chants, plays and dance routines for your child.
During my 20 + years of teaching, I have constantly updated my training that promotes strategies in reading, math, social skills and personal growth, science and the arts. As a native Spanish speaker, I am also sharing my performing arts, musical, and dance background to help reach our children's potential. I believe each one of us has many hidden talents that need to be discovered! I am happy to work with Dr. Vincent's vision and with a staff who also believes this notion.
I have an Elementary 1-6 Degree from the University of St. Thomas and a 1-6 Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction also from the University of St. Thomas. I received my Bachelor of Science K-12 Degree in Spanish & ELL from the University of Minnesota, and an Associate Arts Degree from Inver Hills C.
The elementary age students are definitely my favorite group. My experience of elementary curriculum through Spanish Immersion, the Gifted & Talented training, and the many assessments as an ELL teacher, has helped me provide them with creative teaching strategies that work and meet the district standards.
I'm looking forward to meeting you, and appreciate your involvement and enthusiasm in learning about the universe and the word around us with your child while they become young respectful citizens.
