Mr. Cleland comes to Farnsworth to give us the gift
of knowledge and learning with our hands in addition to our
heads. The kids have five sessions with Mr. Cleland learning each
one of these writing techniques.
The finale'
is creating a book. Each student sews a student-generated text
together. That is then planted into two book covers and a spine
that has been covered by canvas, painted with color wheel knowledge by
the students.
Mr. Cleland works all
over the state as a visiting guest artist. He has been to
Farnsworth many times and the students are overjoyed to see him each
year. He brings life, energy and enthusiasm to what could be seen
as a dry topic.
