__________________________________________________________________ Q: How do I sign up for a mobile lab to use in my classroom or in small groups?
A: Every staff that wishes to use a mobile lab needs to sign-up on the clipboards outside of the computer lab, room 205.
Q. How man wireless carts do we have at Farnsworth?
A: We have 6 carts and here are their names/descriptions: Cart #1: Voyager 1, supposed to have 15 iBooks. Cart #2: Voyager 2, supposed to have 15 iBooks. Cart #3: Spirit, supposed to have 30 ibooks. Cart #4: Opportunity, supposed to have 15 iBooks. Cart #5: Rover, Multimedia cart used with Mr. Carr for special projects. Cart #6: ARES, has video and chat capability, MS Word and more...
Q: How long is the battery life on the iBooks?
A: Normal battery life for each iBook is approximately 2-3 hours,
depending on the amount of usage. If someone has it checked out
for a two hour block, there may not be much battery life left in them
if you plan to use it next.
Q: Who should move the mobile labs?
A: It is suggested that ONLY adults move the mobile
labs. The last resort is to have at least three students
transport the mobile labs back and forth (please use responsible
students).
Q: Where do students save their work once they are finished with their assignment?
A: Student’s should save their work onto the Server (Student’s
Work) at all times. The Server will allow students to access
their assignments with any computer or iBooks. The other place
students can save onto is the Desktop. This should only be
exercised when the Server does not exist.
Q: What should I check for before returning the mobile lab?
A: You need to do the following:
_Turn off all iBooks (Apple--Shutdown)
_Plug iBooks into correct adapter in the cart.
_Face all iBooks the same direction.
_Turn power switch off and unplug power supply.
Q: Do I need to be trained before I could use the iBooks with my class?
A: It is recommended that you have proper training before using the
mobile labs. Schedule a morning or after-school time with Mr.
Xiong.
