Science
We
are preparing for the Science Fair! The areas we will be
experimenting with are colors and light, plants, sound, or working with
crayfish. Mrs. Norrie, our science teacher, as well as the third
grade team, have helped us develop our questions, helped us work on our experiments observations, and are assisting us in the creation of our project boards. The SCIENCE FAIR is May 12th!
Aerospace
Mission
Accomplished! Mrs. Wall and Mrs. Wallace teach our Flight
Site classes. Thanks to them, we have completed our final
week of Flight Site, with a unit titled, "Airports, Communities and
You". While there, we learned new vocabulary, how airports are
designed, and how they work with the community and surrounding
areas. We even got to design our own airport! It was
awesome!
If you'd like to learn
about how the Twin Cities International Airport works with its
surrounding communities, click the GREEN AIRPLANE!
Field Trips
We recently took a field trip to The Works Museum, inside the Edina Community Center. We had a fun filled day of science and technology activities, which included making a kaleidoscope, making an Ear Harp, and of course operating all of the fun machines in the museum itself.
You can check out a VIDEO of us at The Works Museum, by clicking on the Media Player video link near the bottom of the page. BE PATIENT, it takes awhile to load.
If you'd like more information on the works museum, click the logo to the left.
Parents:
Homework
is an important part of your child's education. It
reinforces what your child is learning in school. Please assist
when possible. Missed assignments may result in the loss of field
trips, or other activities. If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact the school. Thank you.
KIDS
. .
. You can get help on your homework! Click on the STARS to
get information about the Homework Hotline. If you call, you'll talk to St. Paul teachers
and tutors who can help you with your homework. You can also get information on which St.
Paul libraries you can go to for homework help. COOL!
Classrooms:
We
have many more learning experiences and fun activities on the way in
each classroom. We try to create an environment that teaches not
only Reading, Writing, and Arithmatic, but ALSO responsibility,
independence and respect for all. We know that with this as our
philosophy, we can give you the future astronauts, engineers, pilots,
teachers, etc . . .
